How We Found These:
Back in 1996 or thereabouts, the Rocky Horror shorts showed up in a Christie's catalog. A couple of years later, the first report trickled in from a fan - the shorts were on display in a Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach, SC! And so they were.
Dawn Loden (nee Henline) sent me a batch of photos from the Hard Rock, and her cast for many years maintained a website. It's down, now, so I'm presenting a selection of her photos. They'll be supplemented later with mine - I concentrated on things like the hem, etc. for construction details.Keep in mind that Sue Blane says she thinks Rocky had several pairs (the gold wore off very quickly). But these photos are as close as we'll probably ever get to definitive.
By the way, the Hard Rock rotates their stock; I'm told the shorts are no longer in Myrtle Beach, and they were spotted by a fan at the Hard Rock in Orlando in April 2011. Sadly, the way they're displayed (on a mannequin) means you can no longer see the inside of the shorts.
