- Tan jacket with maroon/gold Denton patch
Lapels should be long, and it zips up the front. Yoke dips over the bust on each side (Western styling), and is straight across in back. All seams are double-stitched, like on a pair of jeans. Cuffs are unbuttoned. Waistband is elasticized over the hips; two front slash pockets - Maroon/reddish circular Denton patch on the left breast.
- Patch has a gold outline of a tree in the middle. The trunk is gold; the leafy area is green and has gold dots in it (apples?). The leafy area should droop over the trunk a little. There is a little patch of green under the trunk on the left. Words in gold thread circle around the edges:
- "DENTON HIGH SCHOOL" arches around the top three-fourths of the circle (tops of the letters face outwards); "1963" is on the bottom, flanked on each side with a gold dot (tops of the numbers face inwards).
There is a thin red line just inside the lettering (very hard to see). - Sew or glue on. Sewing is better, as it's less permanent (if you make a mistake or need to replace the jacket) and some glues are not waterproof. Jaimie Froemming recommends 'Stitch-Witchery' or 'Heat-N-Bond'.
- Use fabric paint or get it done at a professional embroidery place, the kind that does hats and fraternity stuff. (They will probably have only certain patterns you can choose from and you'll have to pick one that looks close. But it looks SO much better than fabric paint! Look for a "Stitchery" at the mall).
